Piney Rose Announcements!!!

Have you been waiting at your mail boxes with a sad look?  🙁  Don’t worry, things have been busy here at the studio getting ready to send out your STEP 1 in the Stitch Along.

Step #1 is almost ready to launch!

Step #1 is almost ready to launch!

I was planning on sending out your steps on the 15th of the month, but since this month the 15th falls on a Sunday and Monday is a holiday, your package will be mailed out on Tuesday, February 17th.

This month includes 7 color sheets with 2 “Supportive Tips” pages.  One supportive tip sheet covers “Sequential Hand Piecing”, the other “Embroidery Tips.”

Be sure to post your partial blocks as you stitch on the “Stitching With Cindy Blackberg” face book page.  This is a closed group that will support you as you “Stitch Along”.

Now for some REALLY exciting news…  I’m going to be giving out special prizes as we go along in our Stitch Along.  The first prize is a brand new stamp that isn’t available yet, VINTAGE THIMBLE!

I decided since it will be the newest edition to my inventory of stamps, one of the stamps should go to the first person that signed up for the Piney Rose Stitch Along.  Judy Cummings, this stamp is coming your way next week!  (Insert clapping here!)

I have other surprises in store for you, so sign up and keep stitching!

I also had a question on the stitching group with someone asking about hand quilting her “Lone Star Blossoms” quilt.  She wondered how she should quilt it.  I posted pictures on the Stitching Group, but for those of you that haven’t joined, here are the pictures for your enjoyment and knowledge.

Whenever I quilt, I want credit for every hand stitch!  So I quilted through the CENTER of the diamonds, not in the ditch.

I extend the quilting lines into the block areas.

The pattern, Lone Star Blossoms, is available on my website under patterns.  You can take a look at the whole quilt on the pattern page.

Until next time,

Happy Stitching!

  1. Just curious…what is the difference between the Thimble stamp you had before and the new Vintage Thimble stamp that is coming out? I love the little quilt you made with the new Vintage Thimble stamp…can’t wait for the stamp to come out.

    • Julie: The new stamp is taller and slightly wider. It fits on those cute little 2 1/2″ or 3″ charm packs. I’ll be posting it later this month, early next month.

I'd love to hear from you. . . .
