Handwork in the Smokies 2009
May 12 – 14: *** Full
September 16 – 18
September 23 – 25: *** Full
We are now accepting reservations for our new 2009 seminar, “Dogwood Trail”.
You will have your choice of 4 different quilts in 2009. We are changing our
venue next year and we think you will LOVE the changes. See the
seminar page for details.
New Stamp!
The first quilt I ever had published in 1988 was a tumbling block (baby block) quilt
that appeared in several Leisure Arts publications. To celebrate the anniversary of
my first publication, I have updated the quilt and now have a baby block template stamp.
I made mine a “charm” quilt, where every piece of fabric is different. Too much fun!
The stamp comes with instructions for piecing by hand, naturally. A great project to
take with you!
For those of you that are Jo Morton fans, you have probably seen the apple core
table runner I made for Jo in her new book,“Vintage Journey.” The apple core stamp
is available on the template stamp page. Quilt shops can contact me for wholesale
information.
Traveling Through Tennessee?
If you are traveling through our beautiful state this summer, stop by and see the kind
quilting folks at Pappy’s Quilting Place in
Maryville. You can’t miss the store front with the Appalachian Quilt Trail sign out front.
The shop carries all my products and lots and lots of fabrics and other goodies.
New Patterns!
Bears and Berries… The pattern for the 2008 Handwork in the Smokies seminar,
“Bears and Berries” is now available. Both versions are in the same pattern.
Don’t forget to order the “Sawtooth Star” set of template stamps to make piecing
easier. There is also a new 3” setting triangle I developed just for the strippy
version of this quilt. Be sure to order it under the template
stamp page.
Mountain Blossoms… You saw this lovely quilt in the April issue of American Patchwork
and Quilting. Now you can have a copy for yourself. This quilt includes beautiful embroidery
around the pieced and appliquéd sunflower blocks. To make piecing easier, order the
“Sunflower” set of template stamps.
